Back in January I had the pleasure of getting out to an area of Middlesex County southwest of London to search for Golden Eagles. It was a fantastic day, and I had better views of these magnificent birds than I have ever had. It is really neat to see them on wintering grounds; hunting, perched, and flying at low altitudes compared to during migration when they just zip by often hundreds of feet above you. I had at least 6 different birds, ranging in age from juveniles to fully adult birds. Here are some of my favourite shots.

In addition, there were tons of other raptors and other winter birds to help keep things interesting!
