Summer is here...and has been for some time. I have been fairly busy with work and baby stuff lately, but have been out to do the odd birding and naturalizing. I have been having fun with my camera. Here are a few random shots from the summer so far.
I had fun photographing these Common Terns on the Niagara River. Their erratic flight is a challenge to capture!

I recently got a new prime lens for my Fuji. 16mm 1.4 and have been enjoying experimenting with this wide angle lens.
Despite being a wide angle lens, it does good pseudo-macro. I captured this beat up Striped Hairstreak and a few soldier beetles. |
With the wide aperture, the 16mm handles low light very well! I tested it out last night after a heavy rainstorm in Fergus. Not my typical nature photo shoot, but fun to try out!
My favourite shot of the night. Shot through the windshield, but a neat scene. |
